Grand Canyon - 5/23/09

Our first view
Keeley getting her first look

In order to earn her "Jr. Ranger" badge from the Grand Canyon, she had to attend a Ranger class and we listened to his talk about Geology. Keeley was nervous to get his signature but she did it!

When we got out of the class it started raining! Here we are at the bus stop waiting for a tram. Thankfully it was covered! We rode the tram for awhile until the rain stopped!
Still sprinkling a bit but we wanted to see the Canyon again!
Can you see the fog?
Keeley having her "10 minutes of silence" so she could write about how the Canyon looked, felt, smelled, and sounded. This was also a requirement to getting the Jr. Ranger badge.
Keeley in front of Theodore Roosevelt's famous quote: "Do nothing to mar its grandeur for the ages have been at work on it and man cannot improve it. Keep it for your children, your children's children, and all who come after you."

At our last stop, the highest point on the South side. It was finally nice again but not as clear as it was first thing in the morning.

Keeley kept saying "I'm NOT tired!" Yeah right!!!
